Smallholder gardens today, with a steady path toward stronger commercial farming, inputs and markets.
Agriculture is the foundation of the cooperative. Member families cultivate vegetables and staple crops on smallholder blocks in and around Dumbola, using the fertile soils and reliable rainfall of the Waghi valley.
Our approach is gradual and honest: strengthen what families already grow, improve planting and soil practices together, then build the supply consistency that buyers and commercial arrangements require.
Activities marked as developing or future are goals we are working toward — we do not claim services or production we have not yet established.
Focus areas
Vegetables
Highland vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, carrot, onion and greens grown on member family blocks.
Staple crops
Kaukau (sweet potato), banana, taro, corn and other staples that keep member households food secure.
Farm inputs
Coordinating seed, tools, planting material and soil care so families are not buying alone.
Market access
Working towards reliable buyers and fair prices for member produce in Banz and beyond.
Value-added products
Processing, packaging and grading are goals for the future, not services we offer today.
